What are the odds that you'll run into semi-supernatural people in your ordinary life? What, a researcher at a Japanese High School? Oh, then it's 400%. This week, we look at the comedic high school manga Interviews with Monster Girls, volume 1 by Petos, as high school biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi meets four "demis" (demihumans): a vampire, a Dulluhan, a Yuki-Onna (snow woman), and a succubus. What follows is a light hearted school story of people trying to get through their ordinary, and extraordinary, lives, and Hikari the vampire being a goof.
 
Meanwhile, in What We've Read, Tom only gets to a game and a few books of the crystal series Land of the Lustrous, while Louie knocks out the end of The Shinji Ikari Raising Project and the first books of Sun Ken Rock.

Nothing can stop science, not the end of the world, not escaped lions, not a magical light blast which turns every human being into stone, not even poorly created pottery! That's the theme and story of Dr. Stone by Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi, where, well, every human got turned into stone for several thousand years, and now, Senku and a few other humans are trying to rebuild in this comedic shonen manga. Meanwhile, in What We've Read, a quiet week, though Louie takes a look at some newer episodes of Daemon's of the Shadow Realm and Tom gets a bit further into Infinite Dendrogram's novels.

Caught up on reading, Tom and Louie are back with a real review this week with the first two volumes of Teppu, the female amateur MMA manga. Natsuo goes on a journey to not be bored and crush the joyful spirit of "Giant Eyebrows" Yuzuko, who can actually kick the crap out of Natsuo. Tom takes the lead walking us through this fighting series and the interesting way the characters have been decided. Meanwhile, in a fortunately much shorter "What We've Read", Louie just watched some more of Reincarnated as a Slime's newest episodes, while Tom knocked out the second half of Fire Force and finished the recent Frontier Lord novel 14.

Continuing to catch up on things from our unintentionally extended break and some recording issues last time, we finish our reading extravaganza from the early summer. Tom digs into Dr. Stone, gets his imagination fired up by Fire Force, reconnects with the romantic comedy Get Married so I can Curse Your Firstborn and Finally be Free, and catches up on favorites Wash it All Away, Mission: Yozakura Family, and DanDaDan. Louie investigates his way through the Dresden Files, remembers the best part of the Re:Zero anime with the final episode of this part of the season, and solos another volume of Solo Leveling. All that and a whole lot more . . . except Teppu. That's next time. Really. This is Editing Tom saying this, I know what the next episode actually is, it's Teppu. This time, it's just a massive smorgasbord of different stories you should (and one maybe you shouldn't) check out.

Let's get pedaling! . . . Yeah, I don't have any good bicycle puns, but this episode we do take a look at the long running bicycle racing series Yowamushi Pedal, specifically the first volume in English (which covers two standard volumes, so vol 1 and 2 for those with access to Japanese sized volumes). Meanwhile, we have a sizeable What we've Read as well, with Louie watching most of DoroHeDoro's anime and more of Battle Angel Alita, while Tom reads the entire rest of Aposimz and gets distracted by psychic police officers with Super Psychic Policeman Chojo. We return this week with another reasonably named series, as Tom takes us through the first novel of Banished from the Hero's Party, a fairly generic seeming fantasy slow-life adventure at first that, as Tom really, really, reaaaaaally wants you to know, plays a lot with the idea of what would actually happen if people had these classes and skills and things. Meanwhile, Louie continues catching the new big anime, as well as the end of Black Clover and How to Treat a Lady Knight Right, while Tom starts into Knights of Sidonia and is thoroughly whelmed with it all. With another reasonable title (this time for the episode), we return with one of the classics of modern shojo, Fruits Basket, today with the omnibus version of volume one, which is likely classical books one and two for those who may have them. The journey of Tohru to accidentally hug an entire family of cursed individuals with cheerfulness and hope begins with . . . well, a landslide, actually. Meanwhile, Louie continues the anime watching and also finishes the excellent Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro, while Tom chugs along with several volumes of some of his favorite series and, most important of all, completes Drops of God. In the world of rewriting fairy tales into action packed retellings with super soldiers and magical explosions, may we present the absolute over the top world of Blade of the Moon Princess on this week's episode? There is the planet used to house criminals, an historically styled Japanese court overthrown by a terrorist attack using VTOLs and explosives, and a cybernetically upgraded bamboo cutter who was a former lead bodyguard. What if you had a . . . . little bit more time than everyone else? You know, just a smidge? Something like a thousand year lifespan in a world of people? That's the conceit of this week's novel, Enough of This Slow Life! I Was Reincarnated as a High Elf and Now I'm Bored by rarutori, and today we work through the first novel of this warm and joyful journey through a life of saying goodbye to everyone as they pass on to the afterlife.
Meanwhile, in What We've Read, spring anime season has started (as of recording), and Louie looks at a few he has been waiting for, like Re:Zero season 4, Reincarnated as a Slime S4, and the newly released Witch Hat Atelier. Tom, however, had a light week, with the newest Peddler in another World (book 12) and finally returning to DanDaDan (vol 16-18).
